The agreement
Terms
of sale.
What you are agreeing to when you order, in language meant to be read.
These are the terms you buy under. They are written to be read rather than survived, and nothing in them takes away a right the law gives you as a consumer.
1. Who you are buying from
You are buying from GANDVGREATVALUE (Pty) Ltd, trading as Great Value (G&V), a private company registered in South Africa with registration number 2026/729093/07. Its full details are on our legal notice page. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean that business, and "you" means the person placing the order.
These terms apply to orders placed through this website. If we ever agree something different with you in writing, that takes priority over what is written here.
2. Who can order
You need to be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. We sell to consumers. If you are buying as a business, the withdrawal rights described below do not apply to you, because they exist to protect consumers rather than trade.
We ship to [ the countries you actually ship to ]. We may refuse an order, and if we do we will say so and refund anything already taken.
3. How an order becomes a contract
Placing an order is an offer to buy. It is not yet a contract. The automatic email confirming we received the order is not acceptance either; it only tells you the order arrived.
A contract exists when we send you a separate confirmation that the order has been accepted, or when we despatch the goods, whichever happens first. Until then nothing is binding on either side.
This matters in one specific case: if a price is displayed wrongly through an error, we can decline the order rather than being forced to sell at a price nobody intended. If that happens we will tell you before taking any money, and you are free to walk away.
4. Prices
- Prices are set in US dollars (USD) and are the price you pay for the garment.
- We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to our prices.
- Shipping is added at checkout and shown before you pay. You will never be charged a cost you have not seen first.
- Prices shown in another currency are converted for guidance only. The charge is made in our base currency and your bank sets its own rate.
Orders shipped outside the customs territory you are ordering from may attract import duty or tax on arrival. That is charged by the destination country, not by us, and it is yours to pay.
5. Payment
Payment is taken at checkout through [ your payment provider, e.g. Stripe ]. Card details are handled entirely by the payment provider and never reach this website or our records. We see that a payment succeeded, and nothing more.
The goods remain ours until they are paid for in full.
6. Delivery
- We aim to despatch within [ your despatch time, e.g. 2 working days ].
- Estimated delivery time: [ your delivery estimate by region ].
- Delivery times are estimates, not promises. Where a delivery date has been agreed as essential and we miss it, you may cancel and be refunded in full.
- Risk passes to you when the parcel is handed to you or someone you nominate. Until then a loss in transit is ours, not yours.
7. Changing your mind
You can cancel within 14 days without giving any reason. That is longer than the 7 days South African law gives for online orders. How to cancel, who pays return postage and how refunds work are all set out on our returns and cancellation page, which forms part of these terms.
8. If something is wrong with what you receive
Everything we sell must match its description, be of satisfactory quality and be fit for purpose. Under South Africa's Consumer Protection Act you can return a faulty garment within six months of delivery, and you choose whether we repair it, replace it or refund you. If the law where you live gives you longer, you get the longer period.
These rights are separate from the 14-day cancellation right and are not limited by it. If a garment arrives faulty, damaged or simply is not what you ordered, tell us and we will put it right at our cost, by repair, replacement or refund. We do not ask you to pay return postage on a fault of ours.
Normal wear, damage from misuse, and failure to follow the care instructions on the product page are not faults.
9. What we are responsible for
We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses, since we sell to consumers.
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
10. Complaints, law and jurisdiction
Please write to us first: info@gandv.co. We answer complaints within [ your response time, e.g. 3 working days ].
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. As a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and that cannot be taken away by this clause. If we cannot resolve a complaint, you can contact the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud at cgso.org.za.
11. Changes
We may change these terms, but the version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it. We do not apply changes backwards.
